What does OVP mean?

OVP or overvoltage protection refers to a protection circuit that restricts the output voltage to a predefined maximum value.

The OVP voltage must be higher than the output voltage. The circuit must be redundant to the main control circuit. This means that if the main control circuit fails, the output voltage will be restricted and adequate protection will be provided for people and equipment.
